Week 5: body talk

After reading Contract with God by Will Eisner and Blankets by Craig Thompson. It's so clear that each of them has their own style of "art" inside their comics. In Eisner's comic Contract with God we can see that at the beginning how the main character under the super heavy rain with really depressing emotion fully demonstrated by the pose and figure of the main character. And then when we continue reading we see that he lost his daughter, so we have a really clear connection on the background story and the whole beginning setup. The main character sometimes has his figure almost exaggerate in order to express the emotion when its under huge impact. On the other hand, in Thompson's comic there's different approach for being exaggerate. The huge size different of the character, the tilted composition with strong leading line, and the form of the character are elongated  are the three main style that Thompson choose to emphasize on, and it does create another approach of building up mood and emotion of the character.
