Week 8: Ethics and Representation

After read March Book 1, I had a little confusion between the connection of comic stereotype and the story and image in March. Even though in the book the artists being carefully and try to avoid using stereotype, the overall imagery still highly referenced and effected by the time that the story is related to. Since I'm from Taiwan, I'm lacking the cultural reference for the black and white issue in US that March portraits, but I can still see that it's a really serious issue for american. The overall art style and images in March are really well done, and the art style allows reader to avoid reading the story through the filter of stereotype and focus on the reality that it portraits about the time.
